The Giving Tree

What is The Giving Tree?

The Giving Tree started many years ago under the direction of a local resident.  Every year, a tree appeared in one of the local shops with labels containing names of care home residents who needed a little extra Christmas Magic during the festive period.

Members of the local community then took a label, bought or made and wrapped a gift for them and returned it to the tree.  The gifts were then delivered 2 days before Christmas to the care homes, ready for Christmas Day.

The scheme ended in 2022 after several years of success.

What’s changed?

The Giving Tree 2026 is run by Loose Parish Council (Main Elf: Stacey (office@loose-pc.gov.uk )).  Domino’s Loose is our partner this year and the tree will be in their waiting area.  Not much else has changed except an increase in the number of residents who need some Christmas joy!
